A little about me
In the 1970’s I learned about grace. In the 80’s I was introduced to prayer and fasting. In the 90’s I gained a practice in intercessory prayer and was led to greater connection to corporate prayer. In the 2000’s the power of praise -- especially used as a tool against depression -- was revealed in my spiritual life and in the 2010’s I received the great blessing of gratitude as spiritual practice. By God’s grace in the past three years I have been led to involvement in spiritual direction. Each of these movements in my faith life have given me gifts I use as I grow in my role as Spiritual Director. Without my fully understanding what God was doing, He has been giving me over these many decades tools, practices and habits which bring me to this place of ministry.
My life as a wife of 30+ years and a preacher/pastor’s wife for 20+ years alongside my role as homeschooling mother for three daughters (who I led in their basic education through high school, and they are all college grads with one having completed a Master’s and the other two in pursuit of Master’s degrees) this life has given me so many experiences and so many opportunities to engage in lives and spiritual development with others, I can see clearly how God has been shaping me to do this ministry of Spiritual Direction throughout my life.
When I was a school teacher and when I worked in social services with a local mental health clinic and when I served as program director for the homeless and unemployed population, I gained tools which allow me to hear and understand experiences from many angles. My training for Spiritual Direction has led me to engage more fully in being able to hear not only the voices of those speak to me in words, but the voice of the One who speaks in my soul.
I am grateful for each stage of my life and each aspect of development through which I have moved and am moving. I am grateful to Selah Center for Spiritual Formation and to my soul friends and mentors who guided me through my training and certification. https://selahspiritual.com/ I am grateful for their continued support of my ministry. I pray that what the Lord has done in me can be offered to each one who comes to me for Direction.
How can I serve you? In what ways can these gifts given through my life and training offer you a blessing? Reach out to me and let’s see what God has for us together.
It is my great joy to spend time with my soul friends. Together we learn new ways to connect to God and spend time meditating and dwelling on truth and beauty.
